I Burn

Flames. The one thing that can destroy a civilization or create it. Nothing could really contain the yellows, oranges, and reds with hints of blue or white, only make it grow. Most Pokemon would be wary of touching it, save for the Fire-types that had absolute control over the flames.

Eve was the type to recklessly not consider its danger, instead finding fascination with how flames flicker and fade smaller and smaller until dying out. Or they would grow bigger, licking at the sky while Pokémon gathered around to enjoy its warmth. Practically anything could be fuel, a thought that did frighten her, but only water and maybe smothering it with something heavy could put it out.

Most would only see its destructive capabilities in battle, not her though. She saw its potential to nurture too, providing light and warmth to the populace wherever they went. Secretly, she wished to be as nurturing as the flames, wanting to be a beacon of hope to Pokémon out there. She wanted to be the warmth that coddled younger children to sleep and the light to chase away the dark when things went awry. And she wanted to fight against monsters with her power, defeating them and bringing peace to neighboring towns.

Those were her childhood dreams, but they had taken a backseat when her father disappeared, preferring to find him rather than save. But the feeling was still there, so although she was angry at her brother for choosing Rescue instead of Explorer, she was also happy she could fulfill her childhood dream.

When the day finally came to buy a Fire Stone, she relished in the glow of light she bathed in and the flames that started to caress her body gently as though they were made for her. When the evolution finished, she stood proudly against the background, ready to fight for, dare she say, justice and to help Pokémon everywhere.
