Literature Text
Her family has been torn apart, broken and shaken to bits while she and her brother’s friend- no, he was her brother now, having tried to take care of them and her, leaving himself exhausted to the core. But they kept breaking, one brother tied down by alcohol and the other by his own self loathing and she even grew up because she was fed up being treated like a fragile little girl when everything was going on around her and she knew, for some reason she knew it wouldn’t get better until her big brother had healed so the other can drop the alcohol.
She’s with them now, a little girl once more, giggling as they have a bit of a tea party of sorts and her brothers are smiling for once. Smiling and laughing as if they’d never been broken in the first place. She doesn’t care if it’s a dream or not, she’s willing to take it and roll with it.
He looks on at the two brothers to the little girl as she laughs. He knows, this isn’t what they wanted, not really. Behind the smiles was a thin and haggard look for the both of them, filled with pain and suffering from the past trials they’ve been through. Only now they need to put on a mask of happiness, one being force fed pills for his depression, pills he insisted he didn’t need. The other, well, it was easy to stop him from getting his alcohol but then came the problem of the past that turned his heart to nothingness that plague him every day. And in this he could only watch as they might, perhaps, spiral down further.
