Saving Tentacruel

“I got it!” An Eevee ran towards to where a beach ball would land and immediately bounced on her hind legs, smacking the ball with her head and sending it flying to the other side of the net. Her brother ran to catch up with it, but fell short and the ball bounced onto the ground, causing him to growl in frustration.

“Almost had it!” Eve laughed.

“You can’t beat me, Bro, I’ve won all our games so far, you know.”

“Shut up, Sis,” Emil grumbled, nosing the ball and then bouncing it on his head to gain momentum. Just another ordinary day between the two siblings, one that was spent playing rather than working. That changed with her proposal.

“So I was thinking…” she said, “Maybe we can do a mission or something?”

“Aw come on, Sis, I thought you wanted to relax today!”

“I do, but I want to get something done. How about…Oh! We can take that mission that’s for Haunted Halls-“ He immediately stopped, wincing as the ball bounced on his head and rolled away.

“Sis, no. Just…no,” he answered, shuddering at the memories he had of the place. Most of them involved being attacked by maniacal ghosts on the full moon or being sacrificed to Giratina for great justice, supposedly.

“Come on, it’ll be fun!”

“Don’t want to.”

“My brother actually doesn’t want to rescue people?” she mocked gasped, “What is the world coming to?” The ball he was bouncing once more landed flatly onto his head before rolling away. He glared in irritation.

“Ugh, fine, we can take a rescue mission there,” the Poochyena relented.

“Sweet! Let’s go now!”

“W-Wait Sis wait for me!”

The two headed towards the mission board to undertake their mission, one that involved saving a Bunnelby’s by the name of Tentacruel. Haunted Halls had its usual hijinks and shrieking ghosts, but those were easily dealt with by the duo’s Bite attack. Surprisingly there were few ghosts for them to fight, as if their attention was already occupied by something else. Was it Tentacruel in trouble? They didn’t know, but they wanted to find him and, in Emil’s case, get out fast.

“See any sign of him yet?” he asked, glancing his surroundings warily. His sister shook her head.

“Nope. Bro, stop being a pussy, everything is going to be just fine-“ She was interrupted by the sound of battle down the hall. “Must be him, let’s go!” They ran towards the source, which was sure enough their target fighting off a couple of ghosts while many, many more were in the sidelines watching.

“Tch, damn ghosts,” Tentacruel swore, “Outta my way!” He launched a Bubblebeam at several of the ghosts surrounding him and turned around to find more taking their place. The new ones were quickly shot down with Bites from the sibling pair.

“Sorry we’re late!”

“We’ll help!” Emil made use of his Howl attack to boost himself up before launching into the throng like his sister already did. Between the three of them, they made short work of the ghost horde.

“Never seen so many ghosts,” he panted, shaking his head, “How did you manage to fight them off for who knows how long?”

“Yeah, you’re pretty strong.” The water-type grinned.

“Thanks for coming out to help. Bunnelby must be worried by now, huh?” Both of them nodded. “Right, let’s get out of here.” The rest of the trip was uneventful, as they already dealt with the ghosts that normally made trouble, and they safely made it out Haunted Halls, reuniting the normal-type with his water buddy.
